I've been given an old IBM ThinkPad, PII. Can I gut it and upgrade? - ls magazine fun

It is not appropriate and it is a slow way to get it from the inside with a new motherboard and everything that I build? It would be fun! Is there a good book or magazine to help?

to get more RAM and CPU upgrade. Also run virus scans, theres probably a virus that does not slow down.

More RAM and a hard drive bigger things to help high-speed data access, but only so far. You probably have not in a position to much processor upgrade (depending on bus speed, 66-MHz FSB support only professional liability insurance, while a 100 MHz FSB slow PIII could support). Distributions out (with an earlier version of Windows (98SE or 2000) or the basic Linux help as Xubuntu) in May to show the best performance laptop.

Add memory, preferably up to 2 GB and improved speed MHz. However, the installation and small, fragile parts of the hard part.
